For any additional information questions, please contact Coach Leo Stanley Camps focus on teaching the fundamentals of the game in a fun and competitive environment. We will teach kids the skills they need to be a better basketball player by the use of drills and stations work along with full court games. For our beginners group (ages 6-10) we combine a focus on general athletic ability with sport specific basketball training. We aim to develop the young athlete in every child by building basic motor skills, developing hand eye coordination, cardiovascular endurance, strength, agility, speed, and mental toughness. For our intermediate group (11-13) we continue the development of general athletic ability with an increased focus on sport specific training. Defense and ball handling are our main priorities at this level. Our coaches stress the development of dribbling skills, passing and catching, shooting fundamentals (jump shot, layups), perimeter skills, post skills, rebounding, and defense. We also focus on full-court group work (passing, catching, dribbling, fast break) before transitioning to half-court games of 3-on-3 and 4-on-4. We will finish each day with full-court games. During the advanced session (14& Up) we typically run a high school style practice. We pride ourselves on defense and have a series of intense defensive drills for both the individual and the team. We do not neglect with offensive improvement — shooting, ball handling, passing and catching, post and perimeter work, free-throw shooting. We focus on fast-break drills, rebounding drills and man-to-man defensive drills. We finish each session with full-court scrimmages.
